Pest dossiers
One page per pest: what people notice, lookalikes, a typical US range, and one next action. Photos stay as labeled slots until we have credited field images.
-
Termites
$1,500–$3,500
Mud tubes on a foundation, indoor swarmers, a pile of wings on a sill, or wood that sounds hollow when tapped. Structural. Typical US jobs often sit in the $1,500–$8,000 band depending on method.
-
Bed bugs
$1,500–$4,000
Itchy marks in a line or cluster after sleeping, fecal spots on sheets, or live insects in mattress seams. Identification of bites is not a medical diagnosis. Typical US eradication often $300–$6,000.
-
Mice and rats
$400–$1,400
Droppings, scratching in walls or attic after dark, chewed food packaging, or grease marks along a baseboard. Typical US trapping and exclusion often $400–$1,400; attic cleanup can run higher.
-
Ants (including carpenter ants)
$120–$800
Indoor trails to a kitchen or bathroom, or larger black ants in wall voids. Nuisance jobs are often a few hundred dollars. Carpenter ant work that involves wood can cost more and should not be confused with termites.
-
Mosquitoes and ticks
$300–$900
Yard biting at dusk, standing water in gutters or toys, or ticks after time in grass. A single spray can be under $300; season-long programs are the more common professional spend.
-
Wildlife (raccoon, squirrel, bat)
$700–$2,500
Daytime thumps in the attic, chimney noise, or animals at a roof gap. Removal plus exclusion often $700–$2,500. Many species are regulated. This is rarely a DIY vertical.
